Nylex's prefabricated vertical drains are used to improve soft clayey soil which requires a long time to consolidate. The vertical drains are installed at close spacing, ranging between 1.0 m and 2.0 m, into the clay soil to accelerate consolidation within a few months instead of years when without vertical drain.The process increases the bearing strength of the soil and enables it to support increased loads. Our Flodrain" and Megawick" are best substitutes for the conventional sand drain which is more costly. Nylex is one of the world's largest producers of prefabricated vertical drain, wick drain. Our production capacity of 30 million metres/year is so large that it enabled a client to achieve a world record time of 102 days (between 29th March and 8th July 2003) to install 22 million linear metres of the vertical drains for the 3 X 700 MW coal fired power plant at Tanjung Bin in Malaysia.Over 250 million metres of our vertical drain have been installed throughout the world since 1986.Applications: Roads, airports, ports, container yards, reclamation and mining ground.
